The Role
Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the objective of the role is to fully participate in the full project lifecycle, developing new, and enhancing new and existing Experian Payments software products, including:
- Software design and development to meet project schedules and quality standards
- Associated project tasks to complete product deliverables:
- utilisation and maintenance of development tools and processes
- contribution to product documentation
- source code configuration management
- porting of products to additional platforms
- compliance with standards (coding, testing and quality)
- participation in and contribution to milestone reviews
- requirements gathering and analysis of software requirements
- Perform mentoring duties to junior members of staff as requested from time to time by your manager
- Assist in resolution of escalated Support and Implementation issues
- Contribute towards the maintenance and improvement of development department processes and standards
- Undertake any projects assigned to you from time to time by your manager
The successful candidate
The successful candidate will need to possess the following attributes:
- A relevant technical degree or equivalent qualification
- Commercial object-oriented software development experience
- Experience of full software development lifecycle on MS Windows environment
- Experience of software development in Java
- Experience of software development in C/C++
- Knowledge and practical experience of the Rational Unified Process and tools would be a distinct advantage
- Additional platform experience would be a distinct advantage
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL would be an advantage
- Able to communicate at all levels within the business
- Must be able to work on own initiative
