On 31st December 2005, the old Bacstel payments system was withdrawn and replaced with the new and improved Bacstel-IP platform. For organisations working to complete their migration to Bacstel-IP ahead of the deadline, the options were limited:
- upgrade their current Bacstel software to Bacstel-IP with their existing supplier
- select a Bacstel-IP system based upon the speed of implementation rather than strategic value
- adopt a straightforward configuration of Experian Payments UK Gateway.
Bacstel-IP - realising the benefits
Now that the deadline has passed, organisations have the opportunity to undertake a strategic review of their payment systems and consider how best to realise the full benefits of Bacstel-IP.
