Enabling debug logging (v1.8 and earlier)

To diagnose certain issues, Experian Payments Support may ask you to put the server into debug mode.

To put the server into debug mode:

  1. Edit serverDefaults.properties file.
This file is in the Properties folder within the Experian Payments Gateway Server installation folder.
  2. Add the line:
    -d=1
  3. Restart the Experian Payments Gateway Server service.

When the server is operating in debug mode it generates two log files, serverOut.log and serverError.log,  in the Experian Payments Gateway Server installation folder.

Note:
These files are overwritten each time the service is restarted. If you need to keep them, you must make back up copies of the files before you restart the server.

Remember to remove -d=1 once the problem has been resolved. This is to avoid unnecessary performance problems.
