The European Payments Council (EPC) is looking to establish a new committee to help support the EPC Cards Working Group in the development of the EPC Cards Standardisation Volume (CSV).
In a statement, the EPC said that it wants the so-called Card Stakeholfders Group (CSG) to be created by the end of August and functional from September.
At present, the council - which, among other things, looks to ensure faster payments across Europe and support SEPA - is requesting nominations for membership of the CSG.
It wants the collaboration to be made up of five members - one representative each from retailers, vendors, processors, schemes and banks.
The EPC has revealed that it will be in charge of the decision on which banking member participates in the group.
All potential members have been told that they will need to be able to "create consensus with their sector to define the position of their respective sector", as well as plan for subsequent implementation. Moreover, they must be familiar with the CSV.
