Lloyds clients get extra BACS payments security

Lloyds TSB's corporate banking customers are set to benefit from additional security by having to use digital identities when accessing BACSTEL-IP payment systems or digitally signing BACS transactions.

The bank has chosen IdenTrust to implement an identity scheme which will mean an additional layer of authentication for users.

Joe Norburn, managing director in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for IdenTrust, commented: "The IdenTrust network provides a robust identity platform that streamlines business operations by facilitating legally-enforceable communications, increasing the level of trust in electronic transactions and addressing compliance requirements for global commerce."

The company says it helps businesses and governments limit the risks and liability related to identity authentication around the world.

BACS payments usually take three working days to complete and Direct Debits and BACS Direct Credits can be made using the electronic processing system for financial transactions.

Meanwhile, SoftLayer and McAfee are working together to offer SoftLayer customers McAfee's Payment Card Industry security compliance scanning service for free.
